My mind is puny. Or perhaps it is too expansive. Driving home today, I flipped by Big Pharma, and he was talking about how the "liberal elites" who are the "blue bloods" and the "know-it-alls" from the "ivy leagues" were trying to tell us that we needed gasoline taxes, but "common folk" knew better.
The brain circuits started doing something odd. Republicans always say that class warfare is wrong, bad, evil. But they apparently meant that it was only wrong to attack the rich. That was easy to comprehend. Hypocritical, but easy to understand. But now, it appears that the target is narrowed a bit more.
We are allowed to play class warfare on the liberal rich, liberal well educated too. We can of course do class warfare against the poor (some things never change after all) just like always. I have come up with a handy list of how to know that you are supporting only "responsible class warfare" against your opponent.
If they drive a Subaru, bash them too.
If they went to Brown, you can put them down.
If they read the Nation, insult without deliberation.
Now....
If they drive a Hummer, class warfare would be a bummer.
If they donate to the GOP, treat them with dignity.
If they have a golden parachute, tell the IRS to ignore their loot.
