This diary is a moderate CALL TO ACTION for all Kossacks living in Southern California: Join the SoCal Kossack Network!
Here's a concept that's new: an email list. Right. Just what the movement needs, eh? Another email list.
I keep reading that we should blog locally, act locally, organize locally, drink locally, etc. I'm in, I'm down, I'm digging for LA meet-ups in the diary cues between Lamont, Tester, Zengerle and Brooks. This is not working for me.
This calls for a change of tactics: Join the SoCal Kossack Network email list!
Below the Fold: four action requests for SoCal Kossacks.
Mission Statement: The
SoCal Kossack Network is a loose association of Southern California progressive lurkers and bloggers. Originally organized at YearlyKos 2006, the Network is committed to building a movement in our own region.
About: This is an un-moderated private list. Messages are only readable by members, ditto email addresses. Including your dailykos username or blog URL in your subscribe request would be nice (and might help us keep out spambots and trolls).
Action #1: Join the email list.
Action #2: Forward appropriately (e.g. not to people who say "what's a blog" or "But I live in Chicago...")
Action #3: Find someone near you on the dailykos Frappr map, search the username on dailykos, send an email introducing yourself and invited them to the group. Probably won't have a high success rate, but give it a shot anyway.
Frappr Tip: The 'Places' map markers includes a listing for "Blue Nile Cafe & Lounge" in Long Beach, CA. Clicking that location is faster than scrolling across the United States.
Feel free to comments and tell me what a bone-headed idea this... or what the address is for your region's network.
