Well, the computer has crashed twice since I tried to write this and I'm a little cross.
Here's an open thread and a question: I've been treated, mostly, with incredible kindness since Kos invited me aboard. I got a proposal of marriage (it was a wonderful, jokey and sweet thing), a lot of email on the Hersh piece, and an offer of help for my computer from
Steve Gilliard, one of nature's gentlemen, late of this blog. I'm now thinking in HTML and I'm not sure that's a good thing.
But I've been thinking a lot about us. When Kos proposed the move to Scoop, he talked (and still does) about "community." I've been thinking a lot about that today, which is one of the most important days of my life. Today changed me, and I'm going to have to spend a little time meditating on it.
This is an open thread, so you can write whatever you want. For those of you who are so inclined, I invite you to meditate with me. We guest posters get free rein on the weekend, it'll be back to all Kos, all the time on Monday, but I'm planning a Sunday night post on what I learned from my first few days in this kind of community. Kos has a first-born due shortly, and he tells me that he thinks he might be a little busy then, and wants us guesters to step up. ROTFLMAO. Toss a coin to Paypal, up there on the left side.
What do you think about "community." The floor is now open.
UPDATE: Here is a
link to the post that started my adventure with you, since it has fallen off the front page. If you are wandering by, early or late, depending on your time zone, welcome.
REMINDER: US readers, Daylight Savings Time ends tonight. Remember to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed.
