The San Diego Union Tribune is a conservative leaning newspaper, so I was surprised to see this
U.S. rep.'s home sale questioned as the lead on the Tribune's web site, SignOnSanDiego.com. A defense contractor apparantly funnelled cash to Cunningham by overpaying the congressman for his house.
With scandals unfolding in California, and across the country, it seems that Cunningham, Hunter and Issa are all vulnerable in 2006. Years ago we were able to rid ourselves of Brian Bibray simply by pointing out his voting record follwed that of Newt Gingrich. It should be very easy to tie these three to the failed policies of the Bush administration.
Issa, the cry-baby, was a major driving force behind the California recall election that put Schwarzeneggar into office. Given Ahnold's declining popularity, putting the blame for the Governator on Issa should help defeat him. Hunter's recent public statements reinforce the fact that he is a war-mongering wingnut.
Are are any direct ties between these three and Tom Delay? Bilbray was branded as a "Gingrich-style Republican". Can we similarly brand Cunningham, Hunter and Issa as "Delay-style Republicans"?
