Regarding the government's inept handling of the devastation of hurricane Katrina, our valiant President uttered these endearing words: "
The results are not acceptable. I'm headed down there right now. I'm looking forward to talking to the people on the ground," he said."
They don't call him Duhbya for nothing. While Katrina was hitting the Gulf States, Bush was posing for a photo op with John McCain and a birthday cake, playing a guitar, and speaking before a pre-selected audience of senior citizens promoting his doomed Social Security plan. It took him five days for this measured response.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice attended the Broadway show
Spamalot on Wednesday (an apt description of the Bush Administration), and was seen today purchasing thousand dollar Ferragamo shoes. A woman who confronted Rice about the apparent hypocrisy of this lavish lifestyle while thousands of people are suffering from the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, was removed by the secret service. Not to be outdone, Bush appeared today in Mobile Alabama, accompanied by Karl Rove, to address seriousness of the situation. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
