I believe that the New York Times, Washington Post and Tim Russets not Fox News Channel lead us to war because less than a million people watch Fox News Channel and most of those are card carrying wing nuts anyway.
the cable-news networks combined draw fewer unique viewers all night long than a single half-hour of NBC Nightly News
I believe that the New York Times, Washington Post and Tim Russets lead us to war through an uncanny coordination between the White House, New York Times and Meet the Press. This is how it worked for example. The New York Times via Judy Miller will cite an unidentified source that told her of a newly discovered evidence of the existence of weapon of mass destruction in Iraq wit: Nuclear weapon, chemical, biological weapon, etc, and Saddam's plans to hide it from the inspectors.
Then the following Sunday, Tim Russets will host a White House spokesman mostly Dick Cheney, Rumsfeld, Condi Rice or Collin Powell to amplify and give credence to the fake New York Times scoop by throwing soft ball questions on them. Then for a rebuttal he will invite a Democrat In Name Only (DINO) like Jomentum, or "How Great I Am" and "Self Promoting" Democrat like Joe Biden to affirm the White House assertion. In some cases he may invite a real Democrat whom he will then grill into submission.
Then that tone from Meet the Press forms the Republican Talking point the following week crowding out any opposing views from the likes of Joe Wilson, Wes Clark, etc. These talking points are then further amplified by the So Called Liberal Media (MSM) - NBC, ABC, CNN, and CBS News. This scheme continued unabated until we went to war.
Now we know the scoop came from Chalabi, Judy Miller, Dick Cheney, Libby, Karl Roves, etc. We should not give that credit to the Cable news like Fox, MSNBC, etc because in the big of scheme of things they are non players.
