It has occurred to me, lately that we are worrying about the wrong things. Look at the latest tidbit that they have us discussing. Did the News Week story on the flushing of the Curan cause the deaths and rioting that took place in Afghanistan, or was it a set up by our own government? They are fine with us digging in to the border issue, and the like, but don't you get the feeling there is something bigger going on?
This is where Democrats, and Liberals, start to fall apart. They start thinking that they are getting ahead when a few things start going wrong for the Republicans, they back off and feel that things will keep going wrong. Well that is wrong, the Neo-cons have gotten themselves out of more jams, from the missing WMDs to the prisons scandals, they bounce back. How, you may ask?
Misinformation is one way they do it, and that is fairly easy when you network. Another way that they do it is the use of Information Overload. This is when they feel the winds of change blowing against them, and then they overload the media with other non- important stories that the public latches on to and they won't let go. A prime example is the Terri Shiavo case, it divided the country even more. Then to make things worst, they brought it to a vote in the Congress. This even divided the country more, on whether congress should get involved in state affairs. Also in this The Right-Wing Christians want the judges to be able to be removed at any-given time they don't side with the Right. So you can see where this is headed, or maybe you can't and that's what it is designed for.
Misinformation is when the government, feeds you pieces of the truth with other stuff thrown in to sell the thing they want you to run with. Kind of what a Used Car Salesman does with that lemon he sales you. This administration has already been caught making up news stories, about Bush's plan on Social Security, and other things like the Iraqi invasion, telling you how good it is going, and this confuses the issue. The average person who gets his news from the Television is getting the same story from a real reporter,(telling the whole truth) and a White House, stand-in with the piece or two of the truth, and a whole lot of window dressing.
As I see it we should let them use these two methods, and not even fight them on it, because they will split this nation until it is so broken down that we will go in search of a 3rd party to pull us out of the muck. Then again we will be split on that also.
