I am a dkos regular. Actually, I am a dkos diaries regular, as I spend more time skimming the diaries, posting diaries, and posting comments on diaries than I do reading the main portion of the site. Without equivocating, qualifying or hesitating, I can honestly say that I find the diaries to be one of the five best sources of news and information on the web.
The diaries are, of course, not without flaws. While I am sure that many other regulars feel that diaries are flawed, I doubt that many regulars have exactly the same view of how they are flawed. Thus, while it may be a bit arrogant of me (which may not be very good since my arrogant side has been showing lately), I thought I would try to start a discussion about the various types of annoying diaries. Feel free to agree, disagree, mention other types of annoying diaries I have forgotten, or to rank the various types of annoying diaries I mention.
Some annoying diary genres (I don't personally find them all annoying--hell, I contribute to several of them):
-Diary etiquette discussions
-"Electability" discussions
-Let me finally explain the South to everyone else
-Minor Dean news
-Repetitive anti-Dean talking points
-Repetitive non-minor Dean news
-Rigged voting machine / Diebold discussions
-Surfing the waves of empiricist crap
-Why (Kerry / Lieberman / Edwards, etc) should drop out
-X columnist / blogger thinks y about z
-Yet more "Swing State" info
-Other?
