So our offer was accepted, and after weeks of endless paperwork and who knows what else (this is our first time), we're going to be proud homeowners. We close on April 7, which also happens to be right at the start of what should otherwise be a fun Seattle to Portland road trip in support of our book.
So I'm not sure when we'll move, or even whether buying at this particular junction in time was generally a bright idea or idiocy. But it was the house we wanted. We fell in love, and the rest are merely details to be sorted out later (in between bouts of buyer's remorse and panic attacks).
March 19th through the 27th will feature a ridiculous number of (extremely)high-profile media appearances as we kick off our book tour in earnest. Really, you won't be able to escape my mug for a while. For that I apologize in advance. But I also blame you -- without the buzz generated by the success of the Progressive Partners special edition, much of that media attention would not exist. You guys helped prove there was a market for the book, which piqued everyone's interest. The early good reviews are just adding wind to the sails.
I must admit, however, that this is all pretty overwhelming. A new home, the book, the SB Network of sites, and Daily Kos is all a bit much. It's all going well, all of it, that it's almost scary. But I also need to desperately subtract. So while the next three months of book-related travel and promotions promise to provider their own brand of "fun", I look forward when all that craziness is over and I can relax in the relative obscurity of the front page of my favorite blog in the world.
And yeah, this senseless late-night ramble is merely the intro to yet another open thread.
