There has been quite a bit of articles recentrly about Republicans having some technical advantage.
If we are really a popular movement, why not start an open source voter database? There are some tricky issues of privacy and other concerns. So, even though I advocate open source development and contributions open to everyone, I do not advocate open access to the database. It should be restricted to the people that will use it strictly for targeting potential voters and donors.
But if we put our collective mind to it, why not? If everybody who reads Kos enters information about ten people they know who vote there will be at least 6 million entries... I'm sure we can do better than that and it will not even cost much money.
If this idea gains traction, I personally will volunteer some programming time.
