Democratic primary
Ed Perlmutter 51
Peggy Lamm 31
Herb Rubenstein 10
CO-07 will be one of the Dems' top three pickup opportunities this fall. I heard a lot about this primary while in Colorado during the book tour. Perlmutter seemed to be a favorite amongst activists, though Lamm had her supporters as well. Rubenstein was universally respected, even by Perlmutter and Lamm, as a great ideas person (though no one gave him a real chance of victory).
All three candidates were well-respected by the people I talked to, so no "insider" versus "outsider" or ideological divisions in this primary. Any of the three candidates would be embraced by the district's activist Dems, and the race has been civil thus far. This is becoming one of those "good primaries", where the winner will emerge tested and energized, without the baggage of a nasty, divisive primary.
Lamm has the famous name, though it's by marriage. She's an ex-sister-in-law to either former Gov. Dick Lamm or his wife Dottie (I'm not sure which). She kept the name when she divorced out of that family. She served in the state House and is a former teacher.
Perlmutter, who also leads the money race, serves in the state Senate.

Update: EMILY's List, which has endorsed Lamm, released this month-old poll showing Lamm ahead, apparently to blunt the impact of the SUSA poll.
Peggy Lamm 39
Ed Perlmutter 35
Herb Rubenstein 6
Update: Nevermind. As noted in the comments, the race has apparently gotten ugly. And unfortunately, a poll like the SUSA one will likely make things worse.
