This week's testimony of oil company executives reminds me of several years ago when the executives of big tobacco testified that smoking was not addictive.
Of course, their testimony was highly questionable on its face, suggesting the opposite. For me, that event was one factor in realizing that I wasn't a bad or defective person because I smoked, but that I was truly addicted. Six years ago, I smoked my last cigarette.
As today is the great American Smokeout, let's congratulate those who have quit or are in the process of quitting. Please share some of your relevant experiences.
