This past weekend's
"On the Media" on NPR had a story on the subpoena to Tim Russert and the Plame affair generally. The guest was Lucy Dalglish, Executive Director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. In her view, NBC will pull out all of the legal stops to quash the subpoena to Russert, as will other news orgs if their reporters are subpoenaed. Based on this, Dalglish speculated that the Plame case could drag on until well after the election. I'd believed until now that there would either be indictments or a determination not to proceed by this summer. Any First Amendment authorities (or anyone else) with a view on this?
