I called Hannity yesterday to ask where Joe Lieberman has been. You can hear the results
here.
Joe Lieberman and Sean Hannity want us to go away.
That's not our style. When we ask legitimate questions, we insist on answers.
Since Georgia10 and Ari Melber have blogged about the effort, many more people have committed to calling. Hannity's show is on from 3-6 EST and you can reach him by calling 1 800 941 7326. More calling tips here and here.
A warning: Hannity knows we're coming. Yesterday he took far fewer than the usual number of calls and he was just itching for the safety of the "dump" button.
We can probably expect more of the same today. Remember, the two keys to getting on talk radio are persistence (keep hitting redial) and patience (you'll probably wait on hold a while).
But it was worth it when we made O'Reilly show his ass... (that took a full week's worth of effort), and that was just for fun. The purpose of this is much more profound. If the blogs somehow cause a Senate seat to shift hands, we'll have attained a whole new respectability. It'd be huge.
Pre-show
Update [2006-4-25 14:52:18 by Mike Stark]:The show officially runs from 3-6, but it's not to early to start calling now. Hannity won't come on the air until about 3:08 - after the news. Right off, he'll go into his monologue that sets the rest of the day up.
If you get yourself put on hold in the next few minutes, expect to hold through his monologue and then the first commercial break. Some days, and today will probably be one of those days, Hannity doesn't get to his first calluntil after the 3:30 news. Even then, there is no guarantee that the caller he takes will be you - you might end up holding over an hour. Remember - patience and persistence.
Update [2006-4-25 15:17:55 by Mike Stark]: Anyone holding? To answer a FAQ, *67 doesn't work on 1800 numbers... since they are paying for the call, the logic goes, they are entitled to all the information that goes along with that call... so you can't block the callerID - you can dial the *67, but it doesn't work...
the good news is this: so far, Hannity doesn't use CallerID. Bill O'Reilly does though...
Update [2006-4-25 15:30:58 by Mike Stark]: OK, we're at the bottom of the hour break... so far, one call... if you're holding, stay strong...
Update [2006-4-25 15:50:33 by Mike Stark]: MOOHAHAHA... we just forced him to take a break. I was on first, then immediately following me another caller got through... some background for y'all... Hannity has a dump button, but he has limited use of it. I think his limit is twice per segment. We just got him twice in that segment, so now he's "recharging" the delay while he's on commercial.
Anyway, this is only Tuesday... We've already hit him four times in two days. He's slow, but he'll come to get the message soon I hope.
Update [2006-4-25 16:9:54 by Mike Stark]: He's back... btw, an extra special treat today - an interview with everyone's favorite racist - and, quite possibly, the next Senate Minority Leader... yes, uh-huh... that's Trent Lott.
If anyone is on hold right now, I sincerely apologize for asking you to hold through Hannity AND Geraldo... ugh. But take solace in the fact that I'm listening (suffering) right along with you...
Update [2006-4-25 16:22:34 by Mike Stark]: On break, calls when he returns... hang in there!
Update [2006-4-25 16:58:35 by Mike Stark]:Was that just another? He was cut off quite abrubtly... Trent Lott up next, then probably another 30-40 minutes of calls... can we get a final hour push?
Update [2006-4-25 18:0:15 by Mike Stark]: Last chance... after the bottom of the hour break, he goes almost exclusively to calls...
Update [2006-4-25 18:0:15 by Mike Stark]: That's all folks... We'll work it again tomorrow...
