Many people have suggested that George W. Bush isn't, ah, among the brightest chief executives in our nation's history. In fact, a lot of progressives suggest that Bush's intellect makes him unfit for the Presidency. I'm as disgusted with the administration as most of the Kos community, but even if Bush is as stupid as he seems, I'm not sure whether progressives should be dismayed (because the country is in the hands of a moron) or pleased (because a foolish enemy is better than a smart one).
Suppose for the sake of argument that Dubya is in fact as dumb as a post. Would a brilliant but equally conservative and uncompromising President be better or worse for America?
