American Politics PAC in New York Tomorrow
NEW YORK - *Former Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Geraldine
Ferraro & Rep. Carolyn Maloney will join other progressives tomorrow,
Thursday, January 26th for a New York City fundraiser for Students for a
New American Politics PAC (SNAP PAC). *The event will support SNAP PAC's
efforts to send students to work on key progressive congressional
campaigns across the country this summer.

Steinem, Rep. Gary Ackerman, Rep. Jerrold Nadler
, **New York State
Attorney General candidate Sean Patrick Maloney, former New York
Solicitor General Preeta Bansal, former Manhattan Borough President
candidate Brian Ellner, as well as Mickey Dobbs, Felice Gaer, Elizabeth
Kalogris, Robert Rifkind, Nancy Rubin, and Shelley Rubin.
SNAP PAC has established chapters at eleven major colleges &
universities around the country, from Earlham College in Indiana to
Florida A&M. SNAP PAC has also received support from several national
unions, including AFSCME and the NEA.
SNAP PAC makes it possible for students to spend the summer working
full-time on key congressional campaigns, regardless of their economic
background. SNAP PAC will send highly trained students to key
congressional campaigns across the country. Each student will work as a
full-time field organizer for 10-12 weeks and receive a stipend of up to
$2500. Through this, SNAP PAC will help diversify the base of students
who work on progressive campaigns and build a new generation of student
organizers with the training and experience to make a real difference in
progressive politics in 2006 and beyond.
The SNAP PAC event will be held at the home of Bruce, Fredda, and Abi
Vladeck, 360 W. 36th Street, Apt. 8S (between 8th and 9th Avenues), from
