I have a terrible habit of watching the Imus Show on MSNBC if I'm awake that early. Its generally godawful, but what keeps me watching is the interviews with the various news/beltway talking heads that he does.
So this morning he has Jon Meacham from Newsweek on,
and asks him to explain the whole Rove situation, acting like its some kind of rocket science problem, because its just too complex for us plain folk to understand. I don't know Meacham well, but he left a real impression this time as the first words out of his mouth are all about Wilson's political leanings, and how he tried to do a hatchet job on the Bush Admin. regarding the 16 words, Niger, yellowcake, etc.. He did a resonably efficient job of parroting the RNC disinformation points as well, and both he and Imus kept the conversation focused firmly on Wilson rather than Rove. Oh, and there was ZERO mention of Scotty or Georgie's statements about keelhauling those responsible.
I know what MSNBC is, and I know what to expect from the MSM, but I have to say, it still bothers me when I see this kind of systematic, matter-of-fact spinning in the face of simple and verifiable facts.
