April 18, 2004--In West Virginia, President Bush leads John Kerry by five percentage points, 46% to 41%. Four years ago, Bush won the state by six points over Al Gore, 52% to 46%.

No Rasmussen trends... ARG had Bush and Kerry tied in W Va at the end of March at 46, with 2% for Nader and 6% unsure.
Rasmussen also has Bush and Kerry tied at 45% (again), with Bush's job approval at 52%. Those numbers haven't budged since the press conference, which gave Bush no bounce at all, nor did the Blair Rose Garden appearance, nor did Sharon's visit. Their lack of movement this week is more of the story than any incremental noise.
Seems like a lot of people are either not paying attention or have already made up their minds. And as many commentators have said, the powerful and emotional images this week playing in America's living room have the potential at least to change the minds even of the 'certain' voters. Either way, it's still a long way until the election.
