In thinking about Karl Roves continuation at the White House I say go for it. Actually when a tainted person remains in contact with the sacred the taint tends to contaminate and convert the sacred to the profane.
OK, let me translate that into schoolyard lingo. Karl Rove has cooties. And, if he stays at the White House everyone there will soon get cooties. What could be better for the opposition to the White House?
I am saying this because of the obvious role that Karl played in the link of Valerie Plame's name to Bob Novak. It is veiled in the indictment, but it is confirmed in Roves testimony. In fact, Karl Rove lied to cover up the facts, but he changed his story in later testimony. In fact, the only reason he had not been indicted was because he changed his testimony as he discovered that he was being found out. And, one can not loose a perjury case if he can prove that he attempted to clarify his testimony.
So, whether Karl Rove is found guilty of breaking the law doesn't matter. The action of taking revenge on a critic of the administration is the main point here. Karl Rove is willing to take an action that may be considered treason in order to exact revenge. With this action Karl Rove is saying that revenge is more important than the security of the American people, and the safety of CIA agents all over the world. The information about Valerie Plame's tie to the CIA endangers all people who have had contact with her over the last ten years. Someone may remember her living in some foreign country and remember who would visit her weekly. That person is now in danger.
So, with Karl in the White House every time we see him in a photo with someone we are supposed to trust, like the President, Vice President or some other henchmen of the administration the American people will be thinking, "I wonder if so-in-so is also in on the revenge scheme?"
