Today the editors of our mainstream daily newspaper have joined the critics on dKos.
I am not sure quite what to make of this. On the one hand, they are merely echoing the likely sentiments of their readers who are of course the bluest of blues. And the San Francisco Chronicle actually has had relatively informed coverage of our imperial adventures, by the low standard of US media. They have consistantly had real live correspondents in Afghanistan and Iraq who report stories they find for themselves on occasion.
On the other hand, maybe, like all commercial media, the Chron NEEDS a horserace election -- how are you going to sell your "news" if the story evaporates?
