The decider is not going to decide any time soon the fate of the remaining members of the military struggling with this quagmire in Iraq. It seems, to me at least, that he will drag his feet, mumble politically correct statements, and exit the office he has dirtied leaving behind the steaming pile that is his war in Iraq forcing the next president to clean it up.
He must know by now that winning is an imaginary concept, it is a distant dream with zero likelihood of ever having this "mission accomplished". Meanwhile, innocents are dying – and the troops that he so loudly profess to support are the innocents in his corrupt scheme to claim Middle East oil for his friends and political supporters.
Make no mistake, whether Iraq is in a civil war now, or will be when we pull our troops out is really just a question of semantics, isn’t it? Our president had been told from the beginning; "If you break it, you own it". Now it seems he just wants to exit more or less gracefully from center stage so he will not be further stained in history by being president when several hundred troops die trying to leave an Iraq left in complete chaos because Mr. Bush couldn’t decide what to do.
My questions are simple. How many more must needlessly die while you wait out the end of your term? Does it bother you that you cowered in TANG while other less fortunate but brave individuals died in Viet Nam? Is the recent 3000 milestone just an unfortunate and politically bothersome number to you?
