Anyone familiar with the tempo of action in Congress understands that impeachment proceedings must begin now if a war with Iran is to be averted. Knowledgeable observers are predicting that Bush will attack Iran, with horrific consequences, within the next few months. Representatives and Senators are literally in a procedural race against a mad President who is determined to engulf the entire Mideast in flames.
Resolutions, de-funding maneuvers, and protests cannot stop a war against Iran. However, once impeachment proceedings begin, the military will not follow orders to launch a war. Thus, impeachment provides the only reliable means of stopping another illegal US war of aggression in the Mideast. Democrats and Republicans in the Congress must put aside their differences and remove the Bush/Cheney administration before they plunge the United States into a disaster of unprecedented proportions.
The only way to avoid the next pre-emptive war is to pre-emptively impeach Bush.
