Does the President really think that Americans are just going to sit back and take this lying down? We should be out in the streets mom.-My Daughter Taylor,9
More after the flip
My daughter is pretty wise. She is a smart, witty, beautiful young lady. Just coming into her own. She has an empathy that astounds me. She worries for the future of her country and world. She volunteers with me, no matter what I ask or how unpleasant the task may be.
I don't have to like it, to help people do I? Taylor
She humbles me.
Last night she was reading over my shoulder when I was checking my email, (don't you hate it when they do that?) she saw the email from Move-On even before I did. She read it with me, and she humbled me once again.
We made our signs, we picked up a friends daughter and made it to the Plaza with moments to spare. I checked in with my Move-On coordinator and we got down to work. She made sure to say hi to all the protestors that were there, she asked if anyone needed any help. She stood where they showed her to, she waved to the motorists, and held up her home made sign.
She cried when she read the names of the fallen soldiers since last week. She prayed for their parents. She humbled me. Again.
Mom. Does President Bush even know how to win a war?
She pointed to a fellow protestor and exclaimed:
She said he wasnt even really elected!! Where are all the protestors that your mom told me about back in the early 1900's?
Kansas City Star Video for Peace
She's 9. The sixties are ancient times to her. We are working on it.
We stayed for about an hour. During that time we were interviewed by the Kansas City Star for a video story. It is beautiful, thought you might enjoy it too.
