It's starting to gell now for me. Watching the new dog commentators savage Bush's position, and gingerly put forth the unthinkable, I'll revive my old prediction powers from the Vietnam war, and tell you my predictions. They are ugly, but they'll work for the kind of soulless overseers we have running the world plantation for the globaligarchy.
Don't go under the fold without mentally bracing yourself. You know me...
The punditry always stops short of saying exactly what the horrors will be when we pull out. I have no such qualms. Here's what will happen, and how the surge will slow the disaster enough to let us pull out with a slow ameliorated genocide. That's the key, the surge slows the genocide. How?
You will notice that Bush stated clearly in his speech that the military must be free to go anywhere and do anything they want. That means that the US will tell the Iraqi army that they must go into Sadr City and neutralize the Mahdi army of Muqtada Al Sadr. Al Sadr has already issued orders to the Mahdi army to cool it, to prevent this, intending to rush out when the surge is over and massacre the Sunnis.
Massacring the Sunni is the horror show that all the pundits stop short of describing. The solution is to use the surge to smash the Mahdi army, which all commentators say is the only really organized power that can implement an instant genocide.
So I predict that the surge will smash Sadr city after trying to go in and fight door to door unsuccessfully. The US generals will call in the airpower and bomb Sadr City into rubble, killing as many fighters as possible, and ignoring, as we did in Fallujah, collateral damage. The Mahdi army will lose at least half its fighters, and Muqtada will likely be killed or captured, and the puppet Maliki government will try and execute him. A fragile peace will exist long enough to get the US out. The country will be a wreck.
With the Mahdi army neutralized, we will then declare peace in the wasteland and scoot out. The genocide will proceed much more slowly, and thus appear to be not so much the fault of the vacuum we leave, but of the inherent schisms in Islam.
The Kurds will batten the hatches, make their best effort to prevent cross-border attacks, and hunker down in the hold as the storm rages. Turkey will bite their tongue and hope for the best in Kurdistani Turkey.
Iran will wisely understand this plan after reading it here in the predictive press, realizing they will get Iraq eventually, just later. They will realize that the expense of maintaining a force in the MidEast will drive the Democrats to pull out when we get the whole government, with veto-proof majorities anyway.
The US will likely retreat their forces to the large bases, and then airlift most of them in order to avoid the road to Kuwait.
Just predictin'...
