In an interview with Jim Lehrer of Newshour for PBS, Bush actually frowned on asking for the wealthy Americans to have to sacrifice by paying more taxes. Apparently to Bush, that burden is just way too much to ask.
When Lehrer pointed out to Bush that the people that are sacrificing are the same people who have been sacrificing and that is the Military and their families a lone. Bush so disagreed with that statement. He actually had the nerve to say that so many are in this fight, just by them having to "sacrifice peace of mind when they see the terrible images of violence on TV every night". WHAT? Was that a new version of Mama Bush's "Why should we hear about body bags and deaths and how many," the Presidential Mother snapped. "It's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"
Is this not a disgusting policy to be preached by the president of the United States, that he sees money as a much higher importance over peoples lives?
If I were these wealthy and rich-of whom he "likes to call his base", I wouldn't want to be associated with that policy. I would be asking the president be responsible and make sure they pay for this war and make sure the troops had everything needed to fight and serve our country as they've been asking of them. That of course then leads to the next case of fighting this unnecessary and destructive war.
The Troops shouldn't be there now anyhow, but Bush I guess, really believes that if he had to ask the wealthy Americans to pay their fair share, they would tell him to end this war immediately and he doesn't want to. My goodness, if everyone DID sacrifice, it would truly fix our many problems; help pay for it and end it sooner.
That is why Bush is only asking Middle America to sacrifice their loved ones. So he can keep us at war.
