I haven't seen the ad here at DKos yet, but at at least one other favorite site of mine, Senator Clinton has placed an ad headlined "Let the conversation begin ... on the future of our country."
The click through took me to a sign-in for a live online "conversation" with her, the first of which will apparently occur tonight.
Am I the only one who's a bit taken aback that, in her world, the conversation hasn't started yet - and won't until she decides it's time?
Silly me, I thought the conversation had been going on for a number of years right here at DKos. Most of the other candidates made (or their staffs made) a presence in this community weeks if not months ago. Frankly, it disturbs me that the media's consensus leading candidate not only hasn't bothered to show up here, but doesn't appear to intend to show up here in the future.
I realize this is also a method of collecting contact information for her campaign, but -- to me -- it comes across as pompous, and other campaigns have been able to collect information and be part of the marketplace of ideas at the same time.
Please advise me if I'm misreading or overreacting to this.
My record here shows that I'm an Edwards supporter, but 14 or 15 months from now,I'll support the candidate we choose as a Party. But I sure hope it's somebody who hasn't ignored the netroots the way this candidate seems to have done.
