Is anyone as outraged as I am at the OFFICIAL White House response to the ongoing debate in the House on a resolution rebuking Bush's policy in Iraq?
Here is what that jerk Tony Snow said Tuesday:
Members of the House and Senate have the freedom to go ahead and write their resolutions and do what they want with them.
Translation: Shove it.
OK. While I am at it, let's hear from some more wingnuts:
John Boehner, R-Ohio, House minority leader, had this shrill statement:
"And who doesn't believe the terrorists will just follow our troops home."
Touche.
We can't bring the troops home, because terrorists will follow them.
If the troops come home, we will lose. So the troops must stay, so we can win. So much for the millions allocated to the Iraq victory parade. Too risky. The terrorists would just follow.
Next up, Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla>
As in the Cold War, our current struggle is one of survival. The enemy does not mean merely to chase us away. The goal of the Islamist extremist radicals is to destroy us. If we run, they will pursue. If we cower, they will strike."
Have you wet your undies yet?
I do have to give kudos to these next comments:
From the Associated Press:
"If we let Democrats force us into a debate on the surge (in troops) or the current situation in Iraq, we lose," Reps. John Shadegg of Arizona and Pete Hoekstra of Michigan said in a letter to fellow Republicans.
You got that right. You jerks lose if you debate the current situation in Iraq and Bush's plan for it.
