Clinton's answer about how she voted is satisfactory, and asking her to apologize is just emotional banter that serves no real purpose. You can second guess about anything, and it's easy to criticize when you are not the one who had to make the decision without knowing what the outcome would be. Senator Clinton places blame where it belongs: on Bush for incompetently handling the war. I believe her when she says she would not make that vote again; she was misled like the rest of us. BTW she is not the only democrat that supported going to war - many of you did but you are keeping silent.
I am expounding upon a comment that I made early today. The vitriol against Senator Clinton on here is getting silly. I wonder how many anti-Hillary posters work for the Edwards campaign or are simply following the "netroots" opinion leaders.
Senator Clinton has called for troops to be withdrawn from Iraq starting in 90 days. That is logistically sound and part of an actual plan to end the war.
Start now? That is not how things work in the real world: military campaigns (even withdraws) require planning. Hillary has called for that planning to begin now and for a phased withdraw to begin in 90 days. Loading planes up with troops ignores the safety of the troops and is just wishful thinking.
As far has her not apologizing, many democrats haven't. She has said that she would not make the same decision again. Many democrats supported the war (you know who you are) knowing what we knew at the time and trusting what we were told by our leaders.
It makes no sense to have tunnel vision about past votes. Senator Clinton's answer about how she voted is satisfactory, and asking her to apologize is just emotional banter that serves no real purpose. It is also a plan to undermine her candidacy, but people on here are walking right into it and being led by her opponents' consultants. Campaign operatives know the "netroots" and are exploiting it.
Senator Clinton places blame where it belongs: on Bush for incompetently handling the war. Who knows, it would have been successful and bettered the lives of the Iraqi people. The point being, you can second guess about anything.
