I just saw this posted on Think Progress tonight and thought it was worth sharing. From their site:
The Academy Awards are tomorrow night. As most everyone knows, Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth is nominated for Best Documentary. But Melissa Etheridge’s song from the film, "I Need To Wake Up," is also nominated for Best Original Song.
Here's the link for the video if anyone wants to check it out:

A little more on the flip if you'd care to join me....
Update:
Maybe a better poll question would have been: Even if you don't think the video will win, are you glad it was nominated and is it good for raising awareness for Al's cause and the possibility of him getting in the race when they play the song at the awards?
I'm squarely in the Run Gore Run camp, and am also wondering if anyone thinks whether his movie, or this song winning would bolster the chances of him finally getting in the race. I think it would have been crazy for him to announce before then since the press would have torn him up if he got in and the movie didn't win the Oscar. He's never said he won't get in. He's said that he can't give a reason he'd get in. I would hope that if his movie wins, that gives him a reason. I would also hope that if he feels the other candidates aren't doing enough to promote his cause, that gives him a reason. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys the video and I'll be rooting for Al's movie to win tomorrow night no matter what happens after the fact.
