John Edwards is a Leader, and he leads by example. He is intelligent and has worked hard to get where he is today. However, he knows that the so-called American Dream is just that, a dream for most people that they will never experience. He wants to change that. He has integrity and is honest and is someone the American people can count on to protect, defend, and to fight for them. He asks us to join him and help make America stronger and better, not just for the rich, but for everyone. He not only needs our help, he sincerely asks for our help.
America needs a trial lawyer to fight for us. Not just any trial lawyer, but one of the most successful trial lawyers this country has ever seen. Why? I'll try to set forth the reasons I think John Edwards is exactly what America needs to combat the evil, incompetence, cronyism, nepotism, ignorance, greed, and stupidity begun by Regan and culminating with Bush.

- With the "K Street Project" developed by Grover Norquist and implimented by Tom Delay, Rick Santorum, et. al., Washington DC has become a place where money buys influence, votes, and results to a degree heretofore unseen in American Politics. If you think about it, everything that Bush does, I would argue, originates from the idea that unleashing Corporate Greed, unfettered by regulation, law, or fear or any type of meaningful reprisal, is Bush's job and it's his legacy. He is a puppet for the, providing them with corporate welfare, tax breaks, and a lovely little war to boost their profits. He and his buddies are getting fabulously rich from this Iraq/Iran/North Korea misadventure, and you need look no further than Halliburton and the Carlisle Group, to name but two, to see who benefits from Bush policy.
John Edwards has taken on and defeated many large companies, representing individuals who have been harmed due to corporate negligence and malfeasance. He knows how to attack and defeat them, and they fear him.
- Edwards will appoint qualified, competent individuals to the Courts and his Cabinet. I'd like to think most Democratic presidents would do this also, but I trust Edwards more than any of the other candidates. Look at what Alberto Gonzales and his ilk have done to the Justice Department. See them ignore and violate the Constitution. Watch them take away our civil liberties with secret spy programs that spy on us. Feel them torture alleged terrorists, and watch our Nation's moral standing in the world disappear. Edwards would almost instantly correct the corrupt, illegal, and evil brought on by Bush appointees.
No more signing statements. No more ignoring the rule of law.
- Edwards has populist leanings with detailed ideas and plans for every facet of domestic policy. Much of his domestic agenda was adopted by the other candidates last go round, as he had developed his earlier and provided it for review almost a year before the primary. He has a vision for America and a plan and the ability to make it happen.
- Edwards is an extremely competitve individual with intelligence and compassion for those less fortunate than he is, which is almost everyone in this country. He hasn't forgotten where he came from. He's been criticized for referring to his roots, but it's real and it has shaped his idea of what America should be. It should be a place where hard work pays off and opportunity is not just for the rich. He means it. He didn't get where he is by politiking or kissing asses. He earned the Senate seat and he earned every penny he made as an attorney. If I was going to be in a fight, he would be the person I would want with me if I needed help.
- Everyone hates attorneys, but loves their own attorney. We need his skill and advocacy, by we, I mean you and I. He's not beholden to any particular interest, other than people that work for a living, people who want to pursue educational goals, children, the edlerly and disabled, and those less fortunate than most of us. He's a real Christian in act and word, not one of the phony "Christians" otherwise known as the "religious right."
- People question his motive for running for President. I don't. I don't know this for a fact, but my belief is that after his son, Wade, died, that John and Elizabeth did some soul searching and he decided that he wanted his legacy for Wade to be a Country that we could be proud of, truly proud, not phony proud (magnetic stickers and lapel pin flags)and a place that would once more be a beacon of hope for the downtrodden and underprivileged.
- Elizabeth Edwards, John's wife is an true inspiration and a role model for us all. She is an amazingly great woman, with intelligence, vision, compassion, and, well, she's just the very best, most amazing woman that one could every hope to meet, no less be fortuante enough to have her as First Lady!! No Stepford wife Laura, no superficiality and ignorance. No runaway, out-of-control bratty spoiled children in the first family.
- I think that Edwards has great demographics, and the ability to appeal to Republicans and Independents, North, South, East, and West. I think that he matches up well against all the Republicans.
Summing it all up, the level of corruption, criminality, and destruction perpetrated by Bush with the complicity of the Republican Party must be stopped. I think Edwards, with his background and experience, is the person for the job and I know that he will win.
