Kos has just posted a piece on how Congressman Bill Young knew about the mess at Walter Reed but did not follow through to see that it was corrected.
This is just like the Mark Foley scandal where a high ranking congressman knew of the problem and did not follow thru to correct it.
Come below for suggested action.
If you live in the district, contact Rep. Young at Bill.Young@mail.house.gov (include your postal mailing address) and tell him he has shown himself to be part of the rubber-stamp Republican congress that has allowed President Bush to run this country into the ground. His inaction on this issue along with his continued support of the Iraq War has made him unfit to appropriately represent the interests of his constituents.
For the rest of us, write a letter to the editor of the Tampa Tribune thru their online form and to the St. Petersburg Times thru their online form. Use info from Kos’s piece, the Think Progress post he references, or the original Congressional Quarterly article.
The goal here is to embarrass him enough to get him to retire at the end of this term. Eventually he has to get tired of defending himself against this. And, if it’s an open seat, this district is definitely winnable.
Remember, just like the Mark Foley scandal.
