If you think a dairy redundant to another is a dumb diary, then you’ll think this is a dumb dairy. But it’s a smart dairy for a dumb man and I think I can make a point out of this.
Let me begin by debunking the notion that Newt Gingrich’s indiscretion was news. It was widely reported near seven years ago.

Worth repeating.
Let me begin by debunking the notion that Newt Gingrich’s indiscretion was news. It was widely reported near seven years ago.
...NEWT GINGRICH, the combative conservative who orchestrated the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994 and angrily stepped down four years later, plans to marry a Congressional aide with whom he had an affair while he was House speaker, his lawyer said yesterday. NY Times May 4, 2000, "Public Lives."
This is how Reuters reported the same "news" today:
Republican Newt Gingrich, who led the U.S. House of Representatives as it prepared to impeach Bill Clinton in a sex-and-perjury scandal, acknowledged in an interview released on Friday that he was having an affair at the time.
I don’t know what’s more galling. That the media failed to interpret the timeline and report the hypocrisy seven years ago; that Gingrich was allowed to handle this at a time of his own choosing; or that we Democrats didn’t seize the issue in the early months of a presidential year. (Insert your own instincts here.)
I said I’ll keep this brief because it’s a dumb redundant dairy about some news that could have been news long before it became such. But this story has a moral.
Where I come from people tell me it’s easier to steer the boat than the river. The "liberal" media missed this because they were too inept to do the math and realize an active adulterer was leading the witch hunt against a President accused of no worse. Astonishing.
We allowed the media to miss it in the year of the tightest presidential election ever. Unforgivable.
