I monitor the ironically named American Family Association via their hate mail which more often than naught is just garbage. OK, it's always garbage. Sometimes it's interesting garbage and since I've written diaries in the past regarding Ford and the AFA, I thought I should write one today updating what's been going on since Don Wildmon boycotted Ford.
Ford has been performing dismally. Each quarter seems worse than the last. They soon may sell fewer cars than Toyota in the United States. Their recovery plan is not currently meeting its goals.
The AFA has taken all the credit.
More after the jump:
In a march 8th hate missive, the AFA stated:
It appears that Ford Motor Company, in response to AFA's boycott, is silently dropping public support for the homosexual agenda. Here's why.
Impressive, Donald Wildmon knows why and he's going to tell us.
For years, Ford has advertised in the homosexual publications OUT and The Advocate. Since January Ford has not had any advertising in the magazines. In addition, Ford no longer sponsors the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Media Awards, which they have sponsored for years.
When we looked at all the other homosexual events Ford has sponsored in the past, Ford was nowhere to be found.
The homosexual groups have remained silent about Ford's moves, fearful that other companies may follow Ford's lead. Since the boycott began, not a single homosexual group has publicly supported Ford.
However, it could be that the homosexual groups have agreed to be treated as second-class citizens by Ford, continuing to get money from Ford but agreeing not to publicly acknowledge Ford's support.
Emphasis his.
I'm trying to follow along here. Ford hasn't adverised in OUT or The Advocate in January or February and no one complained about it so that must mean that Ford is giving money to the ghey and getting nothing in return. No wonder Ford is losing so much money, they give away their money for free. Or could it be the Boycott? Let's read on:
In February, Ford's sales dropped 13.5% compared to a year ago. Ford's sales have consistently gone down since the boycott began.
Seems like a cause and effect statement to me. The rest is just you typical call to action. Send you hate mail to Bill Ford and Alan Mulally blah blah blah give us money blah.
------
Skip ahead to March 14th and Oh, Snap!! Donald Wildmon finds out that the ghey is still good with Ford.
Please help us get this information into the hands of as many people as possible by forwarding it to your entire email list of family and friends.
OK, my pleasure :)
Ford says will continue supporting the homosexual agenda
Dear dottygale,
Well, it looks like we got our hopes up only to have Ford knock them down.
Last week we reported that we could not find Ford advertisements in the homosexual magazines or events. We spoke too soon. Immediately after we released our findings, Ford said it will continue to support homosexual publications. They also turned up as a sponsor of the 2007 Motor City Pride festival.
According to the Detroit News, "Ford denied it dropped the sponsorship (of the GLAAD Media Awards) because of the AFA. The automaker also said it continues to advertise in gay and lesbian publications."
Ford spokeswoman Kristen Kinley said, "We buy advertising to put Ford’s message in front of as many customers as possible and include customers of all walks of life—customers who have a lot of other options given the competitive marketplace."
The implication is that Ford’s support of the homosexual agenda is simply a matter of numbers and not content. Interestingly, Ford refuses to advertise in either Playboy or Penthouse—not because of numbers but because of content. Both porn publications have a greater circulation than the homosexual publications OUT and The Advocate.
Every homosexual publication and organization Ford supports has as their top priority the legalization of homosexual marriage.
Emphasis his.
I'm fairly certain that Ford does not advertise in best sellers like Honcho or Playgirl either but I could be wrong. It's nice to see that Ford isn't caving in to pressure from hate groups like the American Family Association.
If you're in the market to buy a car, at the very least, test drive a Ford. Tell them Dorothy sent you.
