It's almost physically painful to watch some of the moronic coverage about the anniversary of this war. I had the misfortune to be watching CNN this morning when they went to little Missy Pissy herself, otherwise known as Kyra Phillips.
I just want to know why? Why would you send an airhead like her to cover such an event? As I sat there cursing and yelling at the TV, I decided it was time to share my annoyance with CNN via their handy little "contact us" page. It was pretty cathartic so I thought I'd share it with you- after the fold:
My email:
"I don't know whether to laugh, cry or curse listening to this dope talk about her "insight" into what has happened, and is happening in Iraq. She is shocked that the country is still a wreck. She didn't expect the devastation that she saw and still sees. It was all so exciting when it started- so patriotic!! Geez, what went wrong?
This is the kind of asinine thinking and mentality that got us into this war. "SHOCK AND AWE!" was what we were sold, slickly packaged like a totally cool video game. AWE-SOME, baby! USA! USA! USA! We rock!
Never a thought by so many for the carnage we were inflicting, never an ounce of foresight for the long term repercussions we would suffer from our actions. We approached this war like it was a damn sporting event and we were coming out on top- no matter what we had to do to make that happen. Never once did the reality of war and its consequences encroach on the national consciousness. Why would it when the president and co. so carefully stripped it of its horror, so carefully sanitized it- and you so obligingly went right along?
We let this president and his cronies lie us into this war, and people in the media like pretty little Kyra Phillips were more than happy to do it. It was so patriotic- this was it! Us against them! Saddam messed with the wrong Mo-Fo when he messed with US! The media were the embedded cheerleaders, not the impartial watchdogs they should have been. A huge share of the blame for where we find ourselves today lies with the American media that failed so miserably with the core of their mission- to hold our government accountable!
Is this gal and her mindless babbling really what CNN still considers journalism? Wasn't it bad enough you didn't step up BEFORE the war and do some objective reporting- do you now have to still inflict this kind of reporting on us??"
