The events we are witnessing today, whether they are accredited to the media’s sudden, yet mild, recommitment to government scrutiny, the post midterm Congress, or the furor over scandal in both the Administration and Legislature, the umbrella that all things in this new era reside under is that we are witnessing the aftermath of Republican dominated government.
Practically every single ‘scandal’ that plagues the White House and the American system of government has its roots in the singular fact that the Republican Party, which had enjoyed immense power for the majority of the Republican President’s term, has corrupted the dignity and reputation of our nation to serve itself. Its profound decadence, corruption, and delusion has eroded the once vast global power and influence of our nation for years to come. Once a shining beacon of what nations should seek of themselves, America now glimmers its fading light upon the globe, where said nations have now developed a growing vision of disdain and trepidation toward us.
Domestically, the Republican Party, to serve its own perceived ends, has set forth a mission of acute division in every aspect of American civic life. From religion to economy, politics to morality, the hands of the Republicans are filthy from their tampering, their stomachs bloated from gorging on the fruits of their treachery.
Internationally, the Republican Party has shown itself to transcend incompetence and corruption. Because of its blatant ignorance and disdain for ethical and moral staples of humanitarianism, all of us are rightfully wary of the treatment we would receive abroad, especially in military service. Further, nations in need must rely more and more on their own meager means to combat the universally dangerous plights that evolve out of poverty, disease, and ethnic nationalism. In its failure out in the world, the Republican Party, in my opinion, has created scores more potential terrorists than any vile individual. Therefore, the Republican guise of improving American security is an endevour into absolute ignorance.
Scandal, whether exposed or forever concealed is scandal nonetheless. Undetected, it eats away like acid, the economic and social integrity of a sovereign nation. Further, it is a devastating assault on the brave men and women who had so graciously offered themselves in defense of the nation. Whether or not scandal is exposed, it is damaging and its wake ensures tangible suffering to the people it targets. The Republican Party has spent a political eternity exploiting all it had surveyed. It’s scandalous nature has been perpetuated under the singular delusional objective of ensuring a permanent political majority in the United States Government. Thankfully, reality has at last overcome the delusion, thus the fantasy is being crushed under the weight of reality’s fist.
What we are experiencing today is the first chapter of an aftermath. It is the aftermath of the unchecked debauchery of a Republican President by the Republican Congress. It is the aftermath of the Republican failure and abandonment of its Constitutional duties. It is the aftermath of the failure of the national Media to serve as a check to abuse of government power; and instead, fearfully crouching beneath the tactics of the largest loyalist propaganda operation in history.
When we consider aftermath, we would be wise to heed its implications and its consequences. Yes, for we Americans, there is trouble ahead. Yes, there is suffering ahead. The task is gargantuan; yet, we must continue onward until our nation has recaptured a resemblance of the greatness we once enjoyed merely seven years ago.
We should encourage our Democratic Congress to step forward joyfully to remedy the aftermath of such ill deeds. No one should ever suggest that it would be an easy transition empty of struggle and sacrifice (as the President has done time and again;) the core fact remains that the wake of the Republican majority must be undone for the good of the nation. And so, I urge our new Congress to proceed dutifully and without personal political fear as I urge the American people to undertake the burden of reversing the horrid state we find ourselves in in the aftermath of the Republican majority.
Below is an incomplete list of areas we must reverse in this aftermath:
• The politicization of a human life, whether it be a soldier or a suspected ‘enemy combatant’ can go unchecked in the media as a result of the Republican majority.
• Our Veterans are returning from serving ill equipped in a war of choice only to suffer further from the criminal neglect that has peaked as a result of the Republican majority.
• Our workers have been stifled and grifted to an unparalled intensity and struggle to sustain their livelihood and ownership as a result of the Republican majority.
• Our civil rights, specifically, our First and Fourth Amendment rights have been deliberately lessened, if not squashed as a result of the Republican majority.
• Illiteracy is a growing problem among our nation’s poor as a result of the Republican majority.
• Our Federal deficit is astronomical as a result of the Republican majority.

Lastly, thanks for listening and thanks to the good people at Daily Kos for providing such a great forum for us to get things off of our chests. While I sometimes have complaints about this or that, they are within the confines of my love for a wonderful place.
