I want to share an interesting game with you all...see if we can generate a little "non-politcal" discussion on this late Sunday/early Monday. The game is called "I Fucking Hate: (Blank). The rules of the game are below.
It is getting late here on the East Coast, and I don't want to pack for my next business trip this week (Germany...anyone want a beer stein for the mantel?). So I thought I would try something a little fun.
I recently had dinner with a group of friends that play this game. The rules are pretty simple.
One person will say "I Fucking Hate...." and another will say the topic. The topic is usually some reference to modern pop culture. You have to list your entries. You get more "points" the more people that agree with you; however, no real score is kept overall (something akin to the improvisational comedy show "Whose Line is it Anyway?"). You get "bonus points" for saying it first. You also get bonus points for obscure or choices that are dredged from the depths of the memory hole (80s New Wave pop references usually score very high). You also get high marks if you pick something very current that many critics absolutely adore...and you cannot for the life of you understand why.
So tonight's game is: I Fucking Hate: Bands.
Here are the bands I cannot stand (you may disagree) that others seem quite fond of now or in the past:
- Pearl Jam
- Oasis
- Nickelback
- The Who
- Radio Head
So, now it is your turn. Who do you fucking hate?
Next week a new topic!
