Help me out with this one. I think Harriet Myers' suggestion to fire all 93 USAs would have been a better idea for the Bush Crime Family. If they had simply fired the lot, we would not be isolating the Karl Rove friend in Arkansas or Carol Lam in California. If one assumes that these firings were to obstruct justice, why did they not fire them all to make it look otherwise? They could have set it up by saying right after the election that there would be changes throughout the executive branch in order to serve the American people, or some other bullshit lie. They could have shifted a few people around to cover the real goal: firing these eight, especially Carol Lam. This should have been done under the radar, and I am perplexed why the Bush Crime Family was so sloppy this time around.
One thing the Bush Crime Family knows well is that if you show us the 'next shiny object' we tend to drop yesterday's shiny object. Are we being shown the shiney objects of Iglesias and the former Rove aide in Arkansas to have us not concentrate on Dusty Foggo? And, why didn't they fire them all?
Something's going on here, but I don't know what it is...
To get into the mind of degenerate, lying, murdering, criminal collective mind of the Bush Crime Family and try to 'think as they think' in order to understand why this or that decision was made regarding this scandal, in particular, is baffling me a bit. I don't like being baffled.
What do we know?
As far as domestic scandals go, the Duke Cunningham/Jack Abramoff/Tom Delay/Cheney/Bob Nye/Gail Norton/Dusty Foggo/D.C. Limousines/hot-and-cold running boy and girl prostitutes at the Watergate Hotel/Porter Goss/CIA/Daddy Bush/Karl Rove one is quite good. Sure, it isn't a war-crime, it isn't Halliburton, it isn't making sure black people get erased from New Orleans, it isn't treason at the Department of Treasury, it isn't outing a CIA agent; but, one has to admit the Dusty Foggo scandal would be the 'sexiest' scandal that would put the wooden stake deeply into the rotten heart of the War Party for the next two or three Presidential election cycles.
If I were neck-deep in the shit- and blood-filled sewer of the Republican War Party, it is this rather large scandal is buried. And, if you look at the past year or so, it has been way way on the back burner, what with the body count raising each day, the Walter Reed scandal, and all the rest. These fucking animals know that if they can keep the dead bodies down to a dribble of three a day, with no draft, and with Congress numb, they can string out the next two years, swift-boat/eliminate Obama, they may maintain the Presidency in 2008. Put nothing past these filthy animals.
So, if that is true, they throw in the Iglesias shiny object and the Rove one, mix in a 3,000 page document dump, an aide claiming the Fifth Amendment, and no one is concentrating on Foggo. Does that make sense?
But it has to be all about Foggo! His connections to Jerry Lewis/Dick Cheney/Duke Cunningham and the rest.
Feinstein said that on May 10, Lam "sent a notice to the Justice Department saying that there would be two search warrants sent in the case of Dusty Foggo and a defense contractor. The next day, an e-mail went from the Justice Department to the White House."
The May 11 e-mail was from D. Kyle Sampson, chief of staff to Atty. Gen. Alberto R. Gonzales, to White House Deputy Counsel William Kelley. "The real problem we have right now with Carol Lam ... leads me to conclude that we should have someone ready to be nominated on 11/18, the day her four-year term expires," it said.

What are these miserable fuckers doing? Is it just such extreme hubris and arrogance that they are now growing weary of the 'simple' scandal, and are now being more daring to get the same thrill over their deviant behaviour?
Or, was Karl Rove being too cute by half? Rove is on record as saying that there are eleven key states for the 2008 elections, and he has replaced 9 of the 11 in this purge.
In April 2006, Karl Rove gave a keynote address to the National Lawyers Association, a partisan legal group. "He ticked off 11 states that he said could be pivotal in 2008," McClatchy recalled in their report.
"Bush has appointed new U.S. attorneys in nine of them since 2005."

And, Karl must have known that if he only replaced these eight, and put in his old criminal partner into Arkansas, that people would notice.
Timothy Griffin, Karl Rove’s assistant, the President’s pick as US Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas. Griffin, according to BBC Television, was the hidden hand behind a scheme to wipe out the voting rights of 70,000 citizens prior to the 2004 election.
Key voters on Griffin’s hit list: Black soldiers and homeless men and women. Nice guy, eh? Naughty or nice, however, is not the issue. Targeting voters where race is a factor is a felony crime under the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
In October 2004, our investigations team at BBC Newsnight received a series of astonishing emails from Mr. Griffin, then Research Director for the Republican National Committee. He didn’t mean to send them to us. They were highly confidential memos meant only for RNC honchos.

Well, this diary gets nowhere. This scandal makes no sense to me. The quality of the Bush Crime Family in this one is not up to the standards of the other several dozen scandals of the past six years. Are they now merely 'thrill-seeking'? Is the hubris and arrogance growing so great that they think they can do this and get away with it?
