You don't care for Rush Limbaugh?

Of course you do. Rush Limbaugh was the fat stupid kid, the brunt of all the schoolyard jokes. Even before puberty mercilessly torn, twisted, destroyed. The boy who never measured up, in his parents' view, they never accepting his success, because he didn't become, in the family tradition, a lawyer or a doctor. Who goes nowhere, sees no one: stays at home, alone, munching cheetos, with his custom-built, every-room TVs. Who is so alienated from women that his last wife he bought on the Internet. Who destroyed his own eardrums seeking in opiates blessed release.

You don't care for Tony Snow?

Of course you do. Tony Snow a man who lies for a living, and knows it, the flashy toothsome manly football dude--but that's all over now, because his corporeal container is consumed by cancer: and he is dying.

Of course you care for these people. You're a liberal, goddamit. And if you don't care, then what the fuck are you doing here?

Hear Kenneth Patchen:

they try to fix it so nobody'll care what happens to a man anymore
i don't mean millions--i mean any one man anywhere
if anything is worth anything it's because one man is worth something
if any one man isn't worth something, then nothing whatever is worth anything

it's all got to come back to any one man anywhere or it isn't going anywhere

don't tell me how interested in confucious or jesus christ you are
tell me how interested in any one man anywhere you are

you don't get it
you'd cry
you'd cry if you could feel that

it's all got to come back to one man or it isn't going anywhere at all

it's getting dark
all the fame and stuff are crap hell
you take all the men who've set up "systems"
the smart boys tell you all about them now

i think if they could come back to life they'd have a different slant
i think they'd have something pretty different to say

it looks more and more to me like
the only really important idea is to say yes
to anything that brings life
and no
to anything that brings death

go into the darkness as clean as you can

That is all.

As you were.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
