I know I've seen this question before, but after today's article about the international global warming conference herehttp://www.msnbc.msn.com/..., I wanted to remind everyone that we don't have to wait for our LAME government to make changes that will make a difference.
More:
I saw on a San Diego news program a few weeks ago, a segment about how we can make a difference. I learned that the average front-loading washing machine uses about 13 gallons of water per load, and the average top-loading machine uses about 40 gallons! Clean, potable water will be just as important in the future as measures to curb carbon emissions.
An interesting part of this article was the fact that scientists say that the poorest in the world will suffer most. Who coulda guessed that? Of course they are. I think when things start getting tough, it's going to be every man/woman for themselves! It's really depressing to think that I've given birth to children, who are going to have families who may suffer a horrible death because they may not be able to afford food or clean water or a completely self-sufficient home environment (ie--home grown gardens and fences to protect them). It's scary to think what the future of our species may be like. Does anybody think this way, or are we too lost in the "me" generation? Or is this just another Schwarzenegger movie?
In reality, if we're going to make changes, we have to lobby our government individually, but we have to make changes in our own lives.
What kinds of changes have you made?
