The September Solution is a temporary Iraq funding bill until the September report of General Petraeus with stem cell research and a minimum wage increase attached.
I know that many want to get out of Iraq immediately, but the reality is that there are just not enough votes in congress to do that. If Petraeus' September report is gloomy (which, if truthful, it most certainly will be) then the votes may be there for immediate withdrawal. I suggest a temporary funding bill until September which has attached to it stem cell research and a hike in the minimum wage. I would be agreeable to other additional items. It seems to me that a short spending bill, with attachments, will give even more time for others to see the failed policy in Iraq. Until "the surge" is clearly shown to be a failure some people will still vote to support the war.
