I sure hope this one isn't true. According to the Advocate, Governor Kathleen Blanco is thinking about unretiring and getting back into the Louisiana governor's race.http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/7241306.html
Things look took a turn for the worse for our prospects when John Breaux didn't get the opinion from the LA attorney general and decided not to run. Then we took another hit when Mitch Landrieu took a pass. So far, all we've got is Foster Campbell and Walter Boasso. I don't know much about either of these people, but Campbell doesn't look too bad. It's a shame that Breaux didn't get in, but I think he had little choice but to take a pass when AG Foti refused to issue an opinion, because he would have risked becoming the Democratic nominee and then getting stricken from the ballot. In light of the circumstances, I think Breaux did the right thing. But that doesn't make our prospects in Lousiana any brigther. And now we have word, or rumor anyway, that Blanco may want to get back in.
"This is Louisiana and lots of exciting things can happen between now and the election," Blanco said when asked if she was reconsidering.
Marie Centanni, Blanco’s spokeswoman, said later, "The governor is certainly enjoying her current status and she expects it to stay the same."
Maybe I amd the author of this article are reading too much into a cryptic statement, but if she's enjoying her "current status", which is governor and expecting it to stay the same, its likely that she wants to run again. I think our changes aren't good but with her running, they are close to zero.
