I am sure as you all are aware that Georgia has a senate race in 2008. Right now we are represented by the awful Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss. Some of you may not know, but his campaign made some very mean alligations against then Democratic Senator Max Clealand. One of the alligations was the questions of his patrotism, even though he fought in the Vietnam War and lost his legs and other parts. I admit that in Election 2006 the democratic wave did not reach Georgia, but if we can find the right challenger I think we could take out Chambliss. Georgia may be a conservative state, but it is not as conservative as one might think. We did have Democratic for over 100 years untill now and we were represetned by Democrats in the Senate for previous years. Our U.S. House delagation is 6 democrats out of 13 seats. We also produced President Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton won the state in 1992.
Here is a list of potential candidates to challenge Chambliss. Tell me what you think? All three of these Democrats have consistently won in republican leaning districts from what I know. I believe these are the three most competative candidate
Rep. John Barrow
Rep. Sanford Bishop
Rep. Jim Marshall
