I saw this tid-bit in the New York Times today. So, after being confronted with his past contributions to planned parenthood and looking at the primary schedule, and taking some heat for his performance during the debate, Giuliani is making it official--he's pro-choice again.
I am little curious about how he would translate this into a Giuliani presidency--would he go as far as appointing pro-choice supreme court justices? I imagine the question will be asked. How will this affect his chances in the primary? Big no-no, or does he get anti-hypocricy points.
One positive nugget from this, though--Giuliani obviously feels he can win a GENERAL election as a pro-choice candidate. Vigilance is necessary, action is necessary, but gnashing of teeth and wailing that we're back in the day of coat-hangers is premature, and in some cases counterproductive. Being pro-choice is still the MAINSTREAM position. Let's keep it that way.
