Kind of surprised there doesn't appear to be a diary on this. Former City Councilman Michael Nutter easily won the Democratic primary for mayor of Philadelphia, and barring something unforeseen will be the next mayor of the city. Here are the results:
Votes Percent
Robert Brady 43,200 15%
Dwight Evans 22,295 8%
Chaka Fattah 43,141 15%
Tom Knox 70,043 25%
Michael A. Nutter 104,299 37%

The big surprise is how poorly the two congressman, Brady and Fattah, did. Brady was less a surprise, but Fattah finished about 10% lower than expected. Playing the race card clearly did not work for him. Knox spent millions, but it wasn't enough. Nutter's reformer appeal, and ability to attract support from across racial lines, was responsible for his comfortable win.
