I need feedback on a critical point. In order to make up my mind about some subtler points on the "I/P diary banning" issue I need to know peoples' opinions on a particular issue:
The poll question will be: does banning discussion of I/P help Israel or Palestinians more, AND does it hurt Democrats?
Note that one is a country and the other is a group of people who I think are basically terrified civilians who have developed a bad attitude more recently than the civilians of the nation.
There are four possibilities.
1)I/P Diary Ban helps Israel and helps Democrats, since there is less criticism of Israel and more donations for Democrats, and the rightwing won't have anything to bash DailyKos with.
2)Ban helps Israel and hurts Democrats, since although there will be more money, it will tarnism the big tent, and make Democrats appear tools of AIPAC.
3)Ban helps Palestinians and hurts Democrats, since Israel is already doing all it can and needs relief from internet pressure to solve the problem, although Democrats will appear weak on "apartheid".
4)Ban helps Palestinians and helps Democrats, since Democrats/DailyKos will appear to be in favor of free speech and resistant to AIPAC pressure, and more aid will flow to Palestinians and the restrictions on their travel, etc, will be lifted through pressure on Israel to realistically compromise.
Obviously, there are more complex ways to put this, but I'm trying to get a particular type of sort, to feed into a thought pattern, a matrix, as it were.
Humor me. And please observe the "kinder and gentler and more civilized" rules that are coalescing from the fog of previous I/P meta diaries.
