In response to Rudy Giuliani's moronic statement made in last weeks GOP debates that U.S. Foreign policy has nothing to do with the attacks of 9/11, Presidential candidate Ron Paul has issued Rudy a reading list.
The reading list of several books includes "Dying to Win", "Blowback" as well as the one book you'd think Rudy would be familiar with - the 9/11 Commission Report.
Ron Paul was joined by former top U.S. Intelligence Officer and author of Imperial Hubris Michael Scheuer where he showed support for Dr. Paul's statements.
"Foreign policy is about protecting America," said author Michael Scheuer, who used to head the CIA's bin Laden unit. "Our foreign policy is doing the opposite."
From Imperial Hubris:
Osama Doesn't Hate Our Freedom
Page 8: The fundamental flaw in our thinking about Bin Laden is that "Muslims hate and attack us for what we are and think, rather than what we do." Muslims are bothered by our modernity, democracy, and sexuality, but they are rarely spurred to action unless American forces encroach on their lands. It's American foreign policy that enrages Osama and al-Qaida, not American culture and society.
"I don't think he's qualified to be president," Paul said of Giuliani. "If he was to read the book and report back to me and say, 'I've changed my mind,' I would reconsider."
That's very generous of Paul. For me I won't be reconsidering Giuliani's qualifications anytime soon.
