OK, time to take a break from all that politics stuff. Why worry your beautiful minds with facts and reality?
The 2007 Indianapolis 500 could be the race that changes auto racing forever. Danica Patrick is starting in the 3rd Row and has a small but legitimate chance to win. Two other female drivers, Sarah Fisher and Milka Duno, qualified for the race to make it the first Indy 500 with three females! Even though Sarah and Milka do not have a car that can win on Sunday, the Indy Racing League and open wheel racing is the frontier for female drivers. Nascar is WAY behind, but what else would you expect?
In football, if a team is up by 28 points with only 47 seconds on the clock, that team is absolutely guaranteed to win--NOT IN RACING! Even when a driver has the fastest car and the best skills, something can go wrong (driver crashes, driver is crashed by a rookie driver, gearbox fails, etc.) on the last lap of the race. That is what makes racing the most exciting sport! Contrary to popular opinion, race fans do not like to see crashes. We do not like to see anyone hurt, and the crowds rejoice when a driver climbs out of a crashed car.
FYI, the race is on ABC starting at 12:30pm (EST) on Sunday, May 27.
BTW, do not forget what this weekend is all about: honoring American heroes who sacrificed their very lives for us (many of them at the hands of our incompetent, self-serving President).
Anywho, IMHO, the list below includes the drivers that I think/feel have the best chance of winning (99% chance the winner will come from this list). Who will win? Why? What are your memories of the Indy 500?
