Sometimes I am amazed at the brazen audacity of this man, and sometimes I stare at the paper in wide eyed wonder and just shake my head knowing this asshole is the leader of the free world.
Even the Associated Press ridicules GWB in his pigheaded stubbornness to be "right" all the time, never admitting a mistake, even when presented with a mountain of contradictory evidence, like the OJ jurors, the man simply makes up his own "truthiness".
read it and weep
In case you didn't bother following the link, here's a few paragraphs to give you the gist of today's (of all days) presidential Hi Jinx.

WASHINGTON -- Confronted with strong opposition to his Iraq policies, President Bush decides to interpret public opinion his own way. Actually, he says, people agree with him.
HUH? What's this? What possible Rovian bullshit can spin this statement?
The president says Democrats have it all wrong: the public doesn't want the troops pulled out -- they want to give the military more support in its mission.
Remember, above the fold, when I said sometimes I stare at the paper in wide eyed wonder? Are you doing the same? It gets better... or worse, depending on your current blood pressure:
Increasingly isolated on a war that is going badly, Bush has presented his alternative reality in other ways, too. He expresses understanding for the public's dismay over the unrelenting sectarian violence and American losses that have passed 3,400, but then asserts that the public's solution matches his.
"A lot of Americans want to know, you know, when?" he said at a Rose Garden news conference Thursday. "When are you going to win?"
Also in that session, Bush said: "I recognize there are a handful there, or some, who just say, `Get out, you know, it's just not worth it. Let's just leave.' I strongly disagree with that attitude. Most Americans do as well."
Ummm, last time I looked, "most Americans" voted overwhelmingly for withdrawal from Iraq. (Not the democrats seem to give a shit, but at least they're not denying reality in public.)
Has the man finally snapped? Perhaps he just doesn't care what anyone thinks, the final chapter has been written, he will ride out his last year and half not giving two shits about what the "majority" thinks.
Alternate reality is exactly where I would hide if I was responsible for the needless slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and thousands of my own countrymen - especially on Memorial Day.
I would count down the days until January 2009, but I'm not so sure the democrats are capable of listening to their constituency either.
