For those of you who were away for the holiday weekend, welcome back.
Something big started while you were gone.....
For those who were here but didn't look in on Rock the Houses: Here's a summary.
For those who watched from the sidelines: Here's actions you can take
And for those who participated: Thank you!
Below the fold: How we are going to ROCK THE HOUSES
Here's what happened. Last week, with all the rage over the Democrats who let us down on the capitulation bill, I got to wondering who they were and where they came from.
Then James Risser posted 86 th 86 in 08 - and, well, I couldn't resist.
On Sunday, I posted the first in the Rock the houses diaries: I've got a little list...., it stayed on the Rec. list for almost 24 hours, and has almost 400 comments. It is an attempt to sort the 86 into low priority, moderate priority, high priority, and GO GET HIM!. Lots of great comments. It's been turned into a spreadsheet, a google spreadsheet and a database.
On Monday, I posted the counterpart: Good but vulnerable Democrats. It got much less action, but I think it's a more fun list....these are good people, guys! Give them some love and money!
Meanwhile.....
mehitabel9 wrote a letter to her Senator: the unmitigated gall of Patty Murray about Murray's, well, her unmitigated gall... and cmanaster wrote a letter to her congresswoman (Davis of CA). Great stuff, and perfect for Rock the Houses.
citygirl wrote about her district in Chicago Lipinski and IL-03. Lipinski is a GO GET HIM!
and first time diarist <pickandshovel> turned my list of good but vulnerable Democrats into an Act Blue page in this diary
Roadette turned my two lists into databases - and I think they're GREAT!
Next steps:
- I am working on 4 more diaries: A list of vulnerable Republican House members (probably Thursday), and then the same 3 lists for the Senate (not sure when)
- Diaries! If you know a lot about a district, or a race , please diary it
- Money! Go to the ActBlue page and give money
- More ideas: This is a group effort. What are your ideas? If you have an idea, but no time, post a comment here. If you have time but no ideas (yeah, right....like there are kossacks without ideas)....look at the comments and do something. If there's other lists you want to see, mention them
- Maybe something at YearlyKos? I won't be there....3 jobs, 2 kids, 1 wife, no time. But it seems like something could be done.
Let's keep working and ROCK THE HOUSES!
