FREEDOM!
Everyone agrees, it's the thing for me!
Freedom to choose! Food, clothes, travel, education, medicine, partners, family, location.
Except there isn't enough stuff in the world for everyone to do their thing. So some do, and some don't get to.
And them that don't get to do what they want resent them that do, leading to resource wars.
It seems that one of the highest status things we can do is flit around, traveling our state, our country, our world, hauling our heavy ass by car, by plane, by ship.
It's a major carbon dioxide contributor, after manufacturing the things we think we need, and the military, enforcing our desires to do what we want, and use as much stuff as we want.
How do we change our desires, in the face of the titillating barrage of manipulative media we choose to watch?
Can we come up with clever ideas for that? We ARE so clever. Just ask us.
Kucinich says, in answer to this exact question, that we have to learn to make status about service, to the other, rather than service to ourself.
That's why I support him. He can think outside the straitjacket of the media.
I think he's read a book or two, and lived in a car when he grew up. It lets you see that society is built wrong.
